The end of what? Open-source? Doubtful. Not even of Linux. We really need to know WHAT Tridge was doing before we can cast judgement. I got the initial impression that he was just recoding BK to present it as his own work, which is Not Cool.
Yeah we truly seem to be in the shadow about this. Open source but we know less than we do about everything else out there. Strange world computers...strange world indeed
oh and the end is nigh was a reference to the fark headline to the story which read like this,
"Linus Torvalds, the one that created open-source Linux, attacks open-source software. And behold, the forth seal was broken and the geeks rent their garments and gnashed their teeth"
